A not-to-be-missed dining event for the adventurous is hitting downtown Tacoma Aug. 20 with Dishcrawl. Food lovers will enjoy a culinary tour of downtown’s finest, funkiest, coolest dishes that several yet-to-be-named restaurants will cook up for these lucky guests. For $45, diners enjoy one course each from four different restaurants, with each menu item designed specifically for the event. The names of the restaurants are kept secret until two days prior to the event, but organizer Kathryn Neeley insists they will be top-notch choices. She adds that picky eaters need not fear – the menu will be specifically designed to appeal to the masses.

“Many people are not adventurous eaters, but these will be very high-quality items that the chefs and I decide on,” Neely said.

The event is limited to no more than about 40 people, so purchasing tickets in advance is highly encouraged.

Dishcrawl events have taken place in culinary hotspots such as San Francisco, New York, Montreal, Toronto and more. If the Tacoma event goes well, expect more in the future.

“This is all about getting out in the community and having fun,” she added. “It’s so important to get out and support businesses in the community and explore different restaurants in town.”
