The changing of the seasons also comes with the slightly lesser known changing of the menus at Poodle Dog, located at 1522 54th Ave. E. As the sun sets on summer, the Fife establishment is bringing out its “Fall Favorites” menu.
“The Poodle Dog is pleased to announce a new landmark menu featuring the best of the past and several new, exciting items,” Manager Charles Amner said.
Perhaps the most thematic of the new menu is the traditional turkey dinner – roasted, hand-carved turkey breast with mashed potatoes and gravy, house-made stuffing, cranberry sauce and seasonal vegetables served with a house-made salad or cup of soup and a house-made dinner roll for $12.99.
For early in the morning, try the Harvest Omelet, a fluffy three-egg omelet filled with chicken apple sausage, zucchini, tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, onions and Swiss cheese. The dish is served with a choice of three buttermilk pancakes or hash browns and toast for $9.99.
Another breakfast option is the caramel apple waffle combo, roasted apples in a caramel sauce, served on a waffle. The meal comes with two eggs of any style and a choice of bacon, ham or sausage links for $9.99.
The turkey theme continues with the Turkey Pot Pie made completely from scratch. Chunks of turkey, peas, carrots and pearl onions in chef Jim’s house made cream sauce served with cranberry sauce and a choice of house-made soup or salad for $11.49.
If you’re still hungry after that hearty American meal, try the pumpkin cinnamon rolls, loaded with chopped pecans and covered with cream cheese icing, $1.99 for a single or $8.49 for a half-dozen to split with the entire family or office.
The Poodle Dog is open seven days a week from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., for more information call (253) 922-6161.
