What to do on a Tuesday night in T-Town? Well I went and checked out the Up & Coming break through Country Rock band A Thousand Horses at Steel Creek American Whiskey. Wow, what a fun show with the 4 man band from South Carolina who added 3 backup singers, drummer and keys (violin) for their tour. Last year the band signed with Republic Nashville label and released their first single "Smoke" which set a record for a debut act on Country Aircheck radio chart at 28. A hint of the Black Crowes and a dash of Tom Petty with little country soul you get A Thousand Horses who rocked it for an hour playing a 11 song set, all originals except Petty's "Won't Back Down"

Lead vocalist Michael Hobby and Bill Satcher lead guitarist grew up in the same town have been writing songs since they were 15. Bill's cousin Graham Deloach bassist would join in every summer. Eventually Zach Brown guitarist/vocals joined and A Thousand Horses was formed in 2010. The band's debut EP from DGC Interscope Records self titled "A Thousand Horses" song "Suicide Eyes" was featured in the 2011 movie Footloose. 2nd album "Southernality" is soon to be released.
